MENTOR, Ohio — Fleetwood Gold has quickly become one of the Midwest's most popular Fleetwood Mac tribute bands, earning a devoted following with performances that celebrate the legendary group's extensive catalog. Audiences are taken on a musical journey through Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits, from the band's early years to the acclaimed solo work of Stevie Nicks.

Known for delivering an authentic live experience, Fleetwood Gold relies on exceptional musicianship rather than backing tracks or production tricks. The band's performances feature tight vocal harmonies, soaring lead vocals, and impressive guitar work that capture the signature sound that made Fleetwood Mac a worldwide phenomenon.

The group is led by two-time national blues guitar champion Chris Shutters, who performs the role of Lindsey Buckingham, alongside Ohio singer-songwriters Erika Prehm as Stevie Nicks and Sara Reat as Christine McVie. Their chemistry on stage and commitment to musical accuracy have helped set Fleetwood Gold apart from other tribute acts.

Since emerging on the tribute music scene in 2021, Fleetwood Gold has steadily expanded its audience, selling out venues and building a social media following approaching 20,000 fans. In less than five years, the band has become a sought-after attraction at performing arts centers, festivals, fairs, and private events throughout the region.

Praised for its outstanding vocal performances and instrumental excellence, Fleetwood Gold continues to win over longtime Fleetwood Mac fans while introducing new audiences to the enduring appeal of the iconic band's music.

🍓 National Travel Website Shines a Spotlight on Mentor's Great Lakes Mall

MENTOR, Ohio — A national travel website is putting Mentor in the spotlight — and uncovering a fascinating piece of local history along the way.

Islands.com, a travel and lifestyle publication known for featuring unique destinations and hidden gems across the country, recently highlighted Great Lakes Mall in an article celebrating nostalgic shopping destinations that continue to thrive decades after opening.

The story revealed something many local residents may not realize: when Great Lakes Mall opened in 1961, it was the largest shopping mall in the United States.

Long before destinations like Minnesota's Mall of America captured national attention, Mentor briefly held the title of home to America's biggest mall. Even more surprising, the sprawling shopping center was built on what had once been a strawberry field.

Today, Great Lakes Mall remains an important part of community life, blending longtime traditions with new experiences. From holiday visits with Santa and the Easter Bunny to first jobs, weekend outings, and family movie nights, the mall has played a role in countless Lake County memories.

As national publications rediscover places that helped define everyday American life, Great Lakes Mall stands as a reminder that some of the country's most interesting stories can be found right here in our own backyard.

👉🏻 Click through for a closer look at how Mentor briefly became home to the largest mall in America — and why Great Lakes Mall still matters today.

What Northeast Ohio Homeowners Regret Waiting Too Long to Fix

Every homeowner has one.

That small problem you've noticed for months but keep telling yourself you'll get to "next weekend."

Maybe it's the loose deck board. The gutter that overflows during heavy rain. The bathroom fan that doesn't seem to clear the mirror anymore.

Life gets busy. Kids have activities. Work demands attention. The issue doesn't feel urgent because nothing catastrophic has happened.

Yet.

In Northeast Ohio, our homes endure spring downpours, summer thunderstorms, fall leaves, lake-effect snow, and freeze-thaw cycles that can turn small maintenance issues into bigger headaches.

Here are five things homeowners most often wish they had addressed sooner:

  • Small roof problems before another season of rain and snow had a chance to exploit them.

  • Drainage and gutter issues before water found its way into basements or against foundations.

  • Deck repairs before backyard gatherings revealed that a "minor" problem wasn't so minor.

  • Tree maintenance before the next strong storm brought branches down onto roofs, fences, or driveways.

  • Bathroom ventilation problems before excess moisture led to peeling paint, persistent odors, or mold concerns.

Most expensive home repairs don't begin as emergencies.

They begin as inconveniences.

The good news? Paying attention to the little things often prevents the big things.

Because the goal isn't having a perfect home.

It's protecting the place where birthday parties happen, holiday meals are shared, and ordinary Tuesday nights become the memories families cherish most.

👉 Click through to discover the five home maintenance issues Northeast Ohio homeowners most often regret waiting too long to fix—and the simple lessons they wish they'd learned sooner.

🏈 Browns Exit Minicamp with QB Battle Still Unsettled

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns wrapped up their 10-week offseason program Thursday with their final mandatory minicamp practice, but the team's biggest question remains unanswered.

First-year coach Todd Monken has yet to name a starting quarterback, with Deshaun Watson and rookie Shedeur Sanders continuing to split first-team reps throughout OTAs and minicamp.

Watson appeared healthy after recovering from an Achilles injury and the shoulder issue that ended his 2023 season. He also showed a greater willingness to push the ball downfield. Sanders, meanwhile, grew more comfortable in Monken's offense as the spring progressed, earning praise for improvements in his footwork and decision-making.

Monken said he wants to evaluate both quarterbacks in more game-like situations during training camp before making a final decision.

The Browns also received encouraging performances from several young receivers. Rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston made strong impressions, with Concepcion displaying versatility and Boston consistently winning contested catches. Second-year receiver Isaiah Bond stood out as well after adding muscle during the offseason and expanding his role beyond being a deep threat.

Along the offensive line, Cleveland appears to have four starting spots settled, including newcomers Tytus Howard, Zion Johnson and Spencer Fano, along with versatile veteran Elgton Jenkins. The remaining competition will focus on finding the best fit at center and right guard before the regular season begins.
